Loews profit rises,helped by CNA tax pact (Reuters)

Reuters - Loews Corp., a conglomerate whose holdings include financial, tobacco, energy and hotel companies, on Thursday said second-quarter profit rose 6 percent, helped by increased revenue and a federal income tax settlement at CNA Financial Corp., its largest unit.
